Kyo Ani Cloud Funding Exceeds 200 Million Yen
The fundraising amount for “Help KyoAni Heal”, which Sentai Filmworks (Houston, Texas) calls for on the crowdfunding site, has exceeded ¥ 200 million in Japanese yen. As of July 22, 15:00, over 56,000 people have participated in donations.
Following the arson that occurred on July 18 at the Kyoto Animation No. 1 Studio (Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City), the fundraising is conducted by the founder of Sentai Film Works, who has worked on BDs of Kyo-ani in the United States.
In addition, in response to the same incident, donations have begun in animate stores in Japan as well.
